Pets, Not Pests
There is both a cat and a dog living in this house, and they are both purposeful.
One reminds me almost daily that I am not necessary.
The other reminds me almost daily that I am indispensable.
The crazy part is they take turns with the attitude.

Gratitude Check #3425
Do not personally know the person that was lucky enough to have walked away from this mess, but I am damn sure glad they were able to get out and away from it when the engine caught fire.

All Part Of A Grand Misstep
I sometimes wonder if any of those children who were born as a result of a last ditch effort by their parents to save the marriage, and the marriage was not in fact saved, are ever affected by knowing that they owe their existence to their parents trying everything they could to make the union work but everything wasn't enough.

The Thing That You Wish You Hadn't Done
Over the years I've observed some people exhibit an extraordinarily baffling behavioral quirk.
I call it "Consequences don't apply to me" syndrome.
Not a day goes by when I don't witness some form or other of this.
And, no, it's not more prevalent these days than in the past. It may get more press coverage, but that's only due to the press living to cover people being oblivious to consequences.
It's been around long enough to be known as "biblical".
You reap what you sow, bitter seeds bear bitter fruit, every action has an equal and opposite reaction.
Etcetera.
Probably the most baffling aspect of this behavioral quirk is, to be frank, how often it is me I'm observing indulging in it.

Retaining & Reflecting The Influences Of Everyone You've Ever Met
How much of everyone you've ever met has become a part of you? How much have you absorbed or incorporated into your personality?
It happens you know. We're all sponges, and no matter how fleeting our interaction is with another person, we we meet people we share a little of ourselves with them, and we take a little from them.
That's just the nature of how we as humans develop.

The Never-ending Battle
Everyday, everywhere, there are millions of people who get up and go about the business of trying to make the world a worse place than it was the day before.
This is a universal truth.
The converse is a universal truth as well.
Everyday, everywhere, there are millions of people who get up and go about the business of trying to make the world a better place than it was the day before.

Four-Toed Cactus Foot
What can a man who nearly steps on a cactus plant that is shaped like a human foot (albeit one missing a toe) be expected to do except take a picture of it for posterity?

The Best Part About The Internet Being Down
The Internet feed is out. That is, I cannot access the internet via my PC due to some problem with connectivity.
This is being written on my laptop, using borrowed wifi
No Internet can be extremely frustrating.
However, it is also forcing me to do other things.
Such as clean, repair, build, put together, install, touch up, weed through, remove, replace, get rid of, re-arrange, sort out, draw, paint & finish...all told about 20 to 25 little projects around the house.
So there, a silver lining.

Happy As A Squirrel
The question I have is, who in the world came up with the idea that one of the better barometers of happiness is that of a clam's?
Never have I ever said to myself, "Man, I wish I could be as happy as a clam."
Now squirrel happiness, that is an enviable level of happiness. That's a happiness level I seriously desire.

Internet Downing Storm
Internet went down due to a storm last Saturday...have not had the requisite three hours of free time needed to get it back up and running.
