Perception And Misconception

Million Dollar Highway

He told her he loved her smile
But when she looked in the mirror
All she saw was crooked teeth

She told him his eyes were a beautiful blue
But he never could see any color
Other than a desolate shade of pale slate

Him and her
Hemming and hawing
Trying to strike up a flirtatious conversation
That sounded to one another
Like rocks
Tumbling out of a dumptruck
