Flipping Out Is Cheap Entertainment
Could have sworn I saw a woman walking across the open sea, maybe it was only a momentary illusion that got past the filters as I was drifting off to sleep or possibly the remnants of a dream I was having when the man sipping the barleycorn started shaking me. So difficult to differentiate between what is reality and what is sham when the brain is oblivious to the dangers of neglecting what it needs and is busy downing stiff drinks in spite of the advertisements plastered all over the TV.
I wonder if Copernicus postulated theories to himself about the limits of his own imagination or if he was just resigned to accepting his strange thoughts as being the results of an unexplainable condition. Did the leading intellectuals and academics of his time think of him as a nutter off his rocker or could they readily appreciate the genius of his faculties?
Life without television leaves one with a lot of free time to ponder such things.
