The Best Thing I Can Do (Country & Western Attempt #236)

Some of our friends
                      have been asking me
What I was going to do

Well I think I've just made my big breakthrough

Baby can't you see
I'm not going to spend another day
                                       wasting my time
Working on issues of our compatibility

It might be hard at first coming home
To this old house with cupboards bare
And eating my meals off cheap styrofoam
But I don't think I'll miss the fine silverware
Or eating my dinner all alone
While you're out only god knows where

'cause getting rid of you
Is the best thing I can do

Like a virus, like the flu
Getting rid of you
Is the best thing I can do

That promise that we made
You know the one, 'till death do us part
Well, I'm not waiting to draw my last breath
To put an end to this charade

Some of my friends
                     have been asking me
What I was going to do
Well I believe I've just made my big breakthrough

Baby can't you see

I'm not not going to just sit around and spend
                                               another minute of my life
Hoping that someday you'll be trustworthy

'cause getting rid of you
Is the best thing I can do

Like a virus, like the flu
Getting rid of you
Is the best thing I can do
