People's Bridge Of The Sun

The Platte River Trail is a section of a multi-use paved trail in the Denver metro area.  This section of the trail meanders for 28.5 miles along the South Platte river as it courses through parts of Denver & Adams county between northwest Englewood all the way to Henderson.

In 2022 a bridge was built over the South Platte river where it winds through Globeville, and the City & County of Denver Commission on Cultural Affairs used some of that 1% for Art money that is tied to all capital improvement projects in Denver to have said bridge decorated with the art of David Ocelotl Garcia.

The artist named the bridge "Puente Del Sol Del Pueblo" (People's Bridge of the Sun) and utilized the time-consuming but extremely durable mosaic process that the ancient Greeks and Romans developed that eventually spread throughout the world via trade, exploration & art schools.

The result is what has to be the most attractive / visually stimulating bridge in the Denver metro area. Needless to state I took a number of photos so you can judge for yourself if you are not able to pay a visit to the bridge.
