My First Art Hack

Occasionally (due to overlooking the need to clean the screw top nozzle) one of the screw-on caps on a 200ml tube of oil paint becomes so cemented to the nozzle end of the tube (because of dried paint, natch) that I have to resort to using channel locks to get the cap off.

This, unfortunately, often leads to the complete destruction of the cap.

After a failed search on the internet to find replacements caps, a trip to a local hardware store in search of something, anything, that would be a better 200ml paint tube nozzle cap replacement than a piece of plastic secured over the nozzle with a twisted on-itself rubber band, I discovered that the largest size of the winged wire connectors used by electricians fit over the nozzles rather well - well enough to keep the paint from drying out, and fairly east to open and reclose.

So there you go, an art hack if you will.
