The Curious Statues Along East Douglas Ave (The Chisholm Trail Route) In Downtown Wichita

    East Douglas Ave runs from where the Beech Factory Airport is located on North Webb Rd on the eastern edge of Wichita west to Main St in the heart of the city (at which junction it becomes West Douglas Ave and continues until it ends at a bend that heads north as North Hoover Rd.) 

   Along four city blocks of East Douglas from Emporia to Main (on both the north and south sides of the avenue) a number of life size bronze statues of people and animals can be found - some of them are fairly conspicuous, and some of them are almost hidden. All of them are the creations of artist Georgia Gerber, and all of them make a visit to downtown Wichita much more enjoyable.
