The kids from the house down the street
Attached a sprinkler to the hose today
And in the middle of the afternoon they turned it on
Took turns running through the waves of spray
Jumped laughing over and over and over again
Through the jets of water that rotated over them
Having more fun than anything they ever dreamed of
Playing in the front yard
Not one single face buried in a phone app
Trying to collect imaginary animals for imaginary points
Just running through a sprinkler getting drenched
Without a single care in the world
