Following Your Bliss Off The Edge Of The World
There is a philosophy that posits following your bliss is a surefire means of finding happiness.
That, of course, is pure horsepucky. The streets are full of people who have been following their bliss for decades, and the only thing they found was a spot at the local homeless shelter - if they got lucky on the cold nights that is - otherwise they fight for space on a heating grate or under a bridge.
Because, for a large number of people, their bliss is a debilitating habit, or a soul-crushing addiction, or some other affliction that cripples their ability to fend for themselves in the real world, much less provide even a minuscule amount of bliss.
Sadly, "Follow What Provides You With A Means To Secure Food, Clothing, & Shelter, Then & Only Then Indulge Your Hedonistic Desires" makes for an awkwardly long and wordy bumper sticker.
