I Went To Tahoe & All I Got Was Spectacularly Beautiful Scenary

If you ever find yourself in Reno, Nevada and are not getting divorced or married, don't want to gamble, have no desire to catch a magic act or past-their-prime one-hit-wonder from the '80's, may I suggest a day trip to lake Tahoe?

Lake Tahoe is about an hours drive down US 395 south and US 50 west.

Along US 395/I-580 south heading for Lake Tahoe

Head west on US 50 for the last twenty miles of the drive

This is the first view you'll get - it's quite enough to hook you in

The lake is a brilliant blue, and there are several turn-outs on the road to enjoy the view

Lake Tahoe is the sixth largest lake in the US, behind only the five great lakes

                                                     Paddle-wheeler at Zephyr Cove

Yet another Paddle-wheeler, this one at the beach in Stateline

The view from the beach in Stateline is thoroughly enjoyable

Looking west to the California side of Lake Tahoe

Lake Tahoe is the 16th deepest lake in the world at 1,645 feet (according to the signs)

                                                        Postcard perfect views abound

Even the route back to Reno boasts spectacular views

  1. In Tahoe, You can rent Tahoe pontoon boats and cobalt boats that can hold up to 13 people at Sunnyside Marina. If you dock in the north, you will have the option of having your transportation to the beach arranged for you.
