The Least Frequently Sought After Actor

He was notable in one respect
His inability to convey any emotion
                     Not that he didn't try
                     He tried like mad
With all he had he would imagine
What the feeling he should feel
                     Should feel like

Unfortunately for him
He had lived an incredibly dull, boring life
Without one single peak or valley
And just did not possess the ability
                     To acurately imagine feelings
                     He had actually never felt

The Alien Inside

The egocentric behavior, that was one thing. It was when the actions became insanely erratic that the alarms started to go off. The one person he had been depending on to remain consistently full of them self had suddenly taken a turn for the altruistic, and it was more than he could bear.

After a fitfull, sleepless night of thinking over what could possibly be the root cause of the sea change, he reached what he believed to be the only possible conclusion.

Aliens. Or more specifically, an Alien. Somehow, an Alien had managed to replicate his friend's entire human form and replace him with himself, only he missed one very important detail - the Alien forgot to include the friends self-important, cocksure attitude and amazing ability to piss just about everybody off. That would turn out to be the Aliens downfall.

Don't Hold Back

We have all heard those words of encouragement..."Don't Hold Back".

Unfortunately for most of us, that is the hardest thing to do...to not hold back. Most of us have some internal mechanism that does exactly the opposite...holds us back.

Finding a way to circumvent that mechanism...that is the greatest gift ever.

The Following Day, Shortly Before Noon

After admitting that he was certainly partially responsible for what went down the day before, he abruptly turned around and walked away.

Later that night he sat out on the deck, cigar in one hand, drink in another, and wondered to himself how the hell it had all become so complicated.

He pondered that at least half the night before deciding that it was just kismet, and then went to bed.

Head Over Heels In Hate

He had to keep it fresh in his head
He had to keep it real
He couldn't afford to forget that night
And how it made him feel

He needed to stay angry

The Words, She Said, Were All Wrong

Introverted, there are times I am most comfortable Remaining
In my own little corner of the room
Surrounded by dusty novels, the pets,
And crossword puzzle books
All deliciously familiar

Extroverted, I possess a zest and curiosity to go out
Be stylish, and be among the crowd
Live life for myself
Seek out the fresh, investigate the new
Artistic, intellectual, epicurean, cultural
Wonders that may satiate a desire to add zeal
To crusty, rusty routines

Seeking even newer, or maybe older yet unknown
To challenge
To offer up a fight
To ignite a desire

There is enough time
For yet another wonderful interaction with a kindred Soul
An experienced adventurer, sufficiently jaded but still Open
Flexible, fearless, and still searching

Someone who possesses that rare
Combination of sweet yet acidic wit
That allows for playful banter without fear of Judgement

Without fear of rejection

The Cat With The Pleasant Demeanor

Ninja Larry is about as easy-going as a cat could possibly get. If I had known he was going to be this casual I would have named him Laid Back Larry instead of Ninja Larry, but he was a stealthy little dude when my sister first gave him to me.

Now he's bigger than the little dog Butch, and just flops around the house where he pleases, passed out like some bonged-out stoner. Gets up to eat and harrass the dogs every few hours, then goes outside to hang out at the neighbors or sit on the roof.

What a life. I believe I'm a touch envious.

No Doubt There Is A Perfectly Rational Explanation For This...

People put a lot of strange things on tow hitches. First time I've ever seen a stuffed moose impaled on one though.

Oh, What A Glorious Morning!

"Hey Body! What a grand and glorious morning! This is going to be a wonderful day!"

"Shut up, Brain, and try to remember where the good gloves are, we've got work to do."

The First Sketch Of 2017

A pencil sketch to start the year. Haven't sketched just using a pencil in a long while, but I came across an old photo of someone I knew a long time ago and it struck me that I had always wanted to sketch her, so there you are.
