If there is one thing experience has taught me it's that the old adage "Opportunity only knocks once" is about as far from the truth as an old adage can get.
Opportunity knocks all the damn time. The thing is, it doesn't always knock when you are prepared for it, or even when you are able to recognize it.
The trick then, is to prepare yourself for the opportunity you're hoping for, and learn to recognise that opportunity in the dark. Prepare for the eventual knock, so that when it does come you can greet it with a big smile and say, "Hello, let's do this thing."
