Día De Muertos...De Las Células Del Cuerpo Humano

Found art: el Dia de los Muertos skull wearing a Kentucky Derby party hat, no attribution located

Today's fun fact. Every single minute of every single day approximately one million cells in the average human body die. To paraphrase steal from Sagan, that means billions and billions of cells in each and every human being on the planet die off each and every single day.

Man o' man, that's a lot of death, mainly by an implanted cell suicide mechanism that is essential to the normal, healthy functioning of the body.

Odd to think about it though, eh? The idea that every  single second millions of bits of you are dying off...and being replaced by millions of new bits.

Lot of activity going on - no wonder it's necessary to take a nap every now and again.
