Not the voice full of contempt or anger, not the voice full of disappointment
I wanted to hear the voice that said I love you
As I had heard (and ignored)
All those years ago
But it didn't happen
The voice I heard was full of disappointment
Full of a sadness that defied description
Full of sorrow, regrets and remorse
A lack of innocence
A lack of truth
Somewhat fitting
