While in Miami I decided a little exploratory hike was in order. A quick check of where everything I wanted to see was in relation to where I was staying revealed that there was about four miles between point A (me) and point B (where I wanted to be).
As the route was nearly a straight line and Miami is flat as a pancake, I decided to hike it. All I had to do was walk east on SW 7th street for a few blocks, turn onto the diagonal known as Beacom blvd and walk northeast for maybe a mile, then turn due east onto SW First street and walk until I ran into Bicentennial park, which was on Biscayne Bay.
From there I could walk the small boardwalk to the south of the park, and I could also access the Miami Metro Monorail that encircles downtown Miami, with convenient stops near the marina and the art museum.
