Eventually, Next Spring
Just like every spring
The grass will return
Along with the weeds
Sometime toward the end of April it'll snow again
As the trees are showing leaves
The mornings will warm up enough
To get a few more people walking
Around the reservoir
And up and down the steps
Of Red Rocks amphitheater
Spring training will open up
Ball fans will start enthusiastically talking
Scribes will struggle for a suitable metaphor
To describe the Cubs once again being inept
Or who will be the next big major leaguer
Just like every spring
Frost will no longer be a concern
For the gardener planting seeds
Sometime toward the end of May it''ll start to rain
As the flowers attract the bees
